Tyler's Movie Script

A High Tech Night in the Woods

Cast:

Chris-Guy that gets killed
Dario-Story Teller
Trent-Make out initiator
Conrad-Bunny
Megan-The genius
Madison-The beautiful blonde

The scene is a thick, dark, forest. There is a low fog swirling around a campfire. Sitting around the campfire is a group of nerdy teenagers from High Tech High School. Strange noises coming from the forest break the eerie silence around the campfire of teens. The camp fire is their only source of light. Then one of the (five) teenagers speaks.

Dario “Hey guys, you hear about the strange mythical monster that lives around this forest?”.

Megan “Mythical Monster, shut up dude no such thing! But please describe in detail.”

Dario “Alright…there are stories about a legendary creature that lives in this here forest that we are camping in right now…No one has ever seen this…beast I guess, but people say that it’s eyes glow red in the night. Rangers have driven up to campsites finding dead bodies everywhere and huge rabbit like foot prints.”

Chris “Just shut up dude that’s so not true. There is no such thing as a killer big foot.”

Dario “It’s not big foot bro, no one knows. One thing if for sure though. You can hear a strange thumping noise, right before you are clawed to death and eaten alive”.

Chris “Alright that’s it, I’ve had enough of your lame story. I need to find a really dark place near camp to take a leak. Be right back”.

The Teen gets up and walks away from the camp fire to do his business. Standing alone away from camp, he starts using the restroom in the dark. Suddenly, dark red eyes are seen behind him getting closer. Then the kid hears a strange thumping noise.

Chris “Hey man I know that’s you Dario, stop it”.

The thumping noise gets louder

Chris “Dude stop it! Come on man not funny!”

Still taking his leak, a large puddle of drool is dropped on his shoulder. The teenager turns around and screams.

The screams are heard from the fire. The kids freak out and one of them asks

Madison “What was that?”

Dario yells from the campfire.

Dario “Ok Joe cut it out…not funny man”

No…Response

Dario grabs a flashlight and slowly walks forward towards the scream. Shining the light through the trees, the kid with the flashlight sees a bloody ripped shirt, but no body.

Dario “Guys Chris is gone, we got to find him someone shot him or something!”.

Megan “It was no gun, it was the monster…*thunder crack*”

Dario “Whatever we got to find him! Who wants to help me search for him?”

None of the teenagers respond.

Trent “ Hey dude. Me and ____ are staying here…incase he comes back you know…?”

Dario “Whatever me and Megan will go find him. Thanks for your help!”

The two teens get flashlights and venture off in the woods, disappearing. Silence. The only thing that you can hear is the cracking of the fire.

Madison “Hey they’re gone. What do you want to do?”

Trent “I dunno…want to make out?”

Madison “YEAAA!”

The teens start making out ferociously. Above their heads you see red glowing eyes. From the campfire light, you see a giant white bunny with huge teeth and claws towering over the unsuspecting teenagers. The teens look up and scream.

End of the scene.

Narrator
In Nazi Germany lies the tale of a forbidden love. It began in the year 1944, during the Holocaust. Armin Miller was the son of a respected Nazi General. He was raised in a world of pride and control. In that same society a girl by the name of Ava Goldstein was raised in a world of fear and misfortune. She was the daughter of a Jewish watch maker. How the story of the son of a Nazi and the daughter of a Jewish watch maker began was a tragedy, how it ended was a miracle. The story in between is a heart wrenching tear jerker. It begins with Ava walking home…

Setting:

In the dark cold outskirts of Berlin, Ava was walking back to her humble home from working for her uncle. Ava was suddenly stopped by four men, (who are apparently soldiers). She was frightened by their appearance.

Small Soldier
Halt!
The smallest man said in an assertive voice, while raising his hand.

Ava took a step back still very scared, her heart began to race. The man then demanded

Small Soldier
Where are your papers?

Ava
Here, here is what you want.

She replied in a shaky voice as she handed over a couple pieces of crumpled paper.

The man was looking over her papers. Meanwhile the men were glaring at her talking in a foreign tongue. She then asked in a concerned voice
Ava
Is there a problem sir?

The little man turning his head slightly towards her replied
Small Soldier
Yes, yes there is a problem

The men then took their clubs and started to walk towards her. As she turned to run she was stopped in her tracks at the sight of another soldier. When she saw him she instantly felt safer. The men stopped too, but they did not share her feeling.

Narrator
This soldier was the son of a great general. The men knew the soldier as they had been through the same training camp. The soldier’s name was Captain Armin Miller, one of the most powerful and well respected Captains.

Armin then said in a deep and powerful voice

Armin
If you don’t get out of my sight this second I will have you killed

Small Soldier
What will happen to the girl?

Armin went for his gun but the four men ran so fast that he could not get a good shot. He then said

Armin
Come, we have to hurry

Ava was still very puzzled by this whole experience. As they were running she told him where she lived. When they got to the house he slammed the door open and almost gave Ava’s dad a heart attack. Armin began telling them what was going to happen the next day and that they must move to France and wait for him to meet them there. Then he ran out of the house.

Brian Story

This is the story of five friends. Idann, Julianna, David, J.R., and Alessandra have known each other since they were in 2nd grade. They spent every single day of their lives hanging out with each other in their small suburban neighborhood of Maple Hills. When they finally got to high school, they were considered the elite of the school's social scene. Every one else at Maple Hills High knew them as the Brat Pack but they never called them that in front of their faces or something worse could happen than just getting hit. Let me just tell you a little secret, just because everyone else at school looked at them as the ideal friends and persons, they were far from it. Back at home, each had a set of problems. Idann was a very violent young guy. He would have fights with his dad constantly over the most ridiculous things. On the other hand he was known by his inner circle friends as the guy who could “hook” them up with the best of everything. He could get them into the best clubs and have the best “White Snow”.
Alessandra was considered a goddess to all the girls because she was rich and had all the best clothes and every guy had her as their “fantasy girl”. Yet, outside of school and inside her “circle” she was known as “Barbie”. She sold her body every weekend. Every girl desired him and ever guy wanted to be him. J.R. was the toughest guy at school and everybody knew that if they messed with him or any one of his friends they would get it. Julianna and David where the only couple in the Brat Pack. They were known for showing too much affection inside and outside of school. Even though they were together 24/7, both of them had cheated on each other more than once.
It was a typical Friday after school and Idann was waiting outside in the school’s parking lot waiting for his friends to come out. They had all decided that they were going to host a Spring Break party. While Idann was waiting for his friends, his phone rang.
“Hello?”
“Idann, its J.R.! Fuck this party let’s just crash one. I am not about to be buying shit for this party. Let’s just buy some drinks, food cuz you know I’ll be hungry. You can hook us up with the rest.”
“Fine! Whatever! Where the hell are you?” Idann said.
“I’m in class, I’ll be out in like five minutes.”
“Ok, just get everyone! Bye!”
A few minutes later Idann’s friends came out and got into his silver Lexus. They drove off. Idann was speeding through the freeway and he was going to fast. Right before his friends had gotten into the car he had a few puffs and was high. He felt like he was flying and it felt good.
Idann opened his eyes. It was too bright so he closed them again and rested for a few minutes. As he opened his eyes for the second time, he noticed that he was still in his car. Flashing lights everywhere. It was semi-dark and there were a lot of people talking around him......

Adriana/short story

Lake Tahoe

It was our first family trip in two years. We were getting ready to go to one of our favorite vacations spots, Lake Tahoe. My family and I were packing everything, from warm heavy winter jackets, to snow chains for the car; we were prepared for any situation. I was fairly excited to go, especially because my dad promised to take me to Heavenly Mountain, a ski resort I have always wanted to go on. Although it was a mere eight hour drive, I would do anything to go back up there.
Four hours passed and we were still in Los Angeles, hitting heavy traffic, what’s new? Six hours pass and we were out of the traffic in the middle of nowhere. All I remember was seeing a cow plantation, and smelling the horrid stench of manure. The trip was going as planned so far. I was playing Tetris on my gameboy sp, my sisters watching movies on our portable TV, my mom fast asleep, and my dad going at least one hundred miles per hour on a two lane freeway.
As I look out the window I start seeing beautiful trees covered in snow. I could not believe my eyes. It was beautiful! I knew that we were close to our condo. It was even snowing from where we were. All I thought of was the powder that was going to be on the slopes at the ski resort. Even though everything seemed perfect, the stormy weather ahead looked a little suspicious.
Tow hours later we were stuck in a blizzard. The snow and fog were coming down heavily. It was so bad we couldn’t see at least a couple feet in front of us. I suggested that we put on the chains for our car, but of course, my parents were too lazy to step out of the car and experience the extremely cold weather ahead of them. With no chains and heavy snow falling, our car began to slide side to side on the road. Finally my parents decided to do the right thing and put the chains on.
My parents both sprinted out of the car to the trunk to get the chains. I looked out the window and I couldn’t even see them. While searching for their existence, all I heard was silence.

Conrad Short Story

Over the course of last year and over the summer, a foreign exchange student named Vinny came and enrolled at High Tech High International. Vinny was Brazilian and would always talk about Brazil and the girls and most of all soccer. Soccer was the main sport in Vinny’s home town Rio De Janeiro. He was also very funny and as soon as he came, he started hanging out with Colin, Michael and Sean; members of the High Tech High baseball team. In doing so, Vinny became convinced that he should play. He would later tryout and make the High Tech High JV team. Vinny knew as well as everyone else that soccer was his sport; not baseball.

But Vinny was quite the character. He would come to games out of uniform, late, and with something to eat; a cardinal rule in baseball. But when it came to game time, Vinny would try his hardest. For most of the year he would play left field. There were many times when a ball would be hit to Vinny and he would freeze up; totally stiff and the ball would go right past him. I think Vinny just thought too much but trying to take every ball on a bounce; never charging. But Vinney was even worse at the plate.

Vinny, in my opinion, thought too much at the plate as well. He had an awkward swing; always lunging for the ball and not waiting for the ball to come to him. His approach was swing at the first pitch, watch the second and swing at the third. His style of play was very unorthodox as well as he but none the less, Vinny always tried hard.

Dario's Short Story

So there I was, in the middle of a trench, somewhere in Belgium. I looked towards my feet and saw bloody, dismembered body parts all around me. I looked up across the field in front of me and saw rotting bodies and rusted weaponry. The faint sounds of machine gun fire and artilerry launches sounded in my head. I could not tell if these sounds wer real or if they were just implanted in my head forever.

I awoke to my commanding officer yelling "Let's go, boys! We're movin' out!" I got up to move, realizing I had hardly moved in weeks. As I took my first steps out of the trench, I felt a searing pain in my feet. I remembered Davis telling me about trenchfoot a few months back, when we first landed in Belgium. He said when you sit in trenches for weeks, then try to run, the outer layers of skin on the bottoms of your feet will rip off in big chunks. I wasn't sure if this was what I was experiencing, but it felt like hell.

As we ran through the trenches to make a line against the Germans, I found Davis in the ranks of soldiers.

"Trenchfoot! Is this what I'm feeling?", I yelled.

"Probably.", he replied.

We came to our destination, a line of sandbags behind our enemy. I was sitting down, my back to the wall of sandbags, a rifle in my hand. I pushed myself up and turned around, looking for a target for my crosshairs. Bullets clanged off a metal pole several feet away from me. More bullets whizzed by me head. I ducked down, heart pounding in my throat. I did not have time to be scared. I turned 'round once again to fire, and the recoil from the gun slammed against my shoulder. I looked out to see where my own bullets had gone, and was surprised to see that I was looking up at a plain, white ceiling. Apparently, I had dreamed it all. I was back at home, in Delaware. The date was June 18, 1920. World War I was over. It was all over. I wasn't in Belgium. I was in Delaware..

Chris Nho Short Story

Aaron grew up in the Korean countryside, surrounded not by buildings but by barren fields. The absence of an urbanized culture led Aaron to a very unique outlook on life that many would consider heinous. He simply did not care about his future. There was no hope of escaping his beloved home and no hope of staying in it. This, however, was not meant to be confused with apathy. Aaron was in fact very dedicated to his imagination. He would spend hours dreaming up characters: friends, heroes, enemies, pets. The lack of unique terrain forced Aaron to dream up landscapes that covered the gamut of towering castles to bottomless oceans. Characters would come and go, but there was one person who Aaron became such good friends with that he swore his friend was real.
Andrew was a boy, the same age as Aaron and he looked like a hodgepodge of every person Aaron had ever met. Bits and pieces of his family, friends, even strangers composed Andrew’s features. Aaron and Andrew played games that Aaron thought up of himself. One day they were valiant knights shouting out warcries, the next they were emperors dividing up their country.
It was a hot summer day, Aaron and Andrew were both fondling the grass around them underneath the shade of a tree, when Andrew asked a question.
"Hey Aaron, I've been over to your house plenty of times, but you've never come to mine." Aaron was struck by the question, "Wow, I never even thought of that before, actually, I'm not even sure if you have a house."
"Well whatdya say, let's go!", replied Andrew.
So the two trekked off, Aaron following Andrew like shepard and sheep. Finally they arrived at a pile of rubbish. Aaron was unimpressed.
"All this walking... for this?" He exclaimed as he pointed towards the trash.
Andrew beamed as he said, "Dig in."
He set off to work, first building the walls. Metal sheets, long abandonded and rusted with time, became walls for his room. Leaves became garnish for his hallways. After five long hours of work, the two had managed to create a four walled structure. But that was only what it seemed like to the naive. Once given a closer examination, the walls turned to painted murals, matching the skill of DaVinci and Michaelangelo. The rooms were filled with toys, beverages, and all sorts of tinketries. These four walls were a child's haven; nothing surrounded them but their imagination.

Short Story

Once upon a time, there was a boy that lived near the ocean that was guarded by a large cliff. At these cliffs, you could climb down to the water and surf the waves that broke on the rocky shore. The boy saw surfing as a sport that looked fun and bad ass all at the same time. The boy's Dad grew up at these cliffs and surfed as much as he could there, so he decided to teach his son how to surf at the cliffs. The father took the boy down to his favorite spot along the cliffs called No Surf. They both climbed down the sandy cliff with their boards to the beach, and then paddled out towards the waves. It was later in the evening and the sun was setting. That day was very calm, with light winds and small waves. The boy and his Father made it out in the line up and waited for the perfect wave. When it came, the boy turned around and paddled as hard as he could. When he caught the wave, the boy stood up and rode that sucka all the way in. The boy was totally stoked and was dancing around on the beach. The boys dad and other surfers in the line up cheered for the boy, and the boy was very happy. The boys Father paddled in and congratulated the boy on his first wave. Surfing was now a part of the boy's life, and it will always be, for surfing is like a strong drug. Once you try it and figure it out, you cant stop.

Megan-Short Story

In a small town just outside of Kwellen lived the little old lady who made the most beautiful flower arrangements. I was from a poor family with little to our name so I'd only been to an engagement worthy of her flowers just once. It was at a celebration that my father was invited to, and the flowers were all I could remember. First there was a vase, of clear crystal glass mixed with a milky sky blue. It was short and round with a gaping neck that ran around the edge like a collar. And out from the blue vase came a shower of flowers, all complimenting each other with perfect feng shui that was not only pleasing to the eye, but pleasing to the temperament. It was like those Van Gogh paintings I had seen in my art books; a mix of color and randomness that painted a bigger picture. In these flowers, I saw lilies and buttercups, forget-me-nots and chrysanthemums (all of which I had too look up in the gardening book I begged my father to buy that day). Yet from a far, I saw the ocean. I saw movement and I saw shadows and I saw emotion in those flowers. I was only seven, but I knew what I wanted to do.

That book my father bought me was like a bible to me. I practically took it wherever I went, though thinking back, I'm almost embarrassed of my obsession. Wherever I traveled, I saw the scenery and nothing more. It took me two months to have that book nearly memorized. Yet though my heart was set, it took a lot of courage to convince my father to buy me another. In the busy streets and urban life of China, it is hard to find vegetation that is more than a weed, but I knew my way around that city and it wasn't long before I had started my own garden from seeds I had secretly collected from around the village. At first, they were just flowers and leaves, nothing of interest to my sometimes ignorant father. It only took one little green squash to make him realize the value of my gardening skills. After he tasted my little squash, he bought me my second book on plant life.

Now, as the head scientific botanist of the Shao Lin University, I look back in wonder of the curious girl I used to be. Whenever my job becomes tedious, I think of the little old lady and I think of the pure excitement I felt when first viewing that flower arrangement. I never met the woman who lived near Kwellen, I'm sure she must have passed away by now, but I'll never forget the impact her flowers have made on me. Whether she knew it or not, though I like to imagine she did, she has changed lives with her flowers. That is what I'd like to do with my work, though I know I most likely never will. I suppose that's the ever constant battle of living as a scientist and living as an artist but never both. Yet her flower arrangement kept me going and I don't think I will ever forget how I felt like the ocean from looking at those flowers. And just as I saw shadows of emotions in those flowers, the little old lady shadows my own thoughts, an ever-present reminder of why I truly love what I do.

Dan's Short Story

Tesal was sad. He felt like running, and running as fast as he could in the opposite direction. But as he knew very well, he couldn't run from his problems; he had to face them.

And so, after some thought, he stood up from his couch and started toward his car. The beat to "Together" by The Raconteurs was playing in his head.
"You and me, forever,
We belong, together."

It resonated behind the eyes and deep in the chest. He had to see her; he had to talk to her.

And so he jumped into his car and tore off down the road. It was almost feverish now, the feeling in his heart. He opened up the throttle and accelerated.

"Your friends have thrown a kink in the single life,
You've had too much think, now you need a wife,"

was playing in the background, but he didn't hear.

And as he shot around the final curve to where Aedral's house was, he missed the other car coming the other way.

Tesal died in the emergency room 6 hours later. He put up a terrific fight, but was unable to sustain the blood loss. He died without telling Aedral that he loved her, without telling her that he couldn't stand being without her.And now the world is a less happy place

Madison's short story

Finding Home
Growing up in Ireland is difficult. I am a son to poverty along with my father, mother, two brothers, and three sisters. We have very little. We live in a shack of a house and eat scraps that we called meals. Everyday our lives become more challenging. There is no money, no work, and no food. I know I have to leave.
Being the eldest of my siblings, I was always looked up to. My parents expected a lot from me. I was the one who needed to take care of my family, especially my ill father. Everyday after school, I would try to find work in our small town to buy food for supper. Every night I came home to my suffering family.
Throughout my life I heard people talk about this magical place called America. It was said to have food, shelter and work for all. It was said that anyone can have success in America. As I watched my family become more depressed and less able, I knew I needed to bring them to America.
One night after everyone was asleep, I lay awake pondering. I tried to figure out how much it would take to get my family and me to America. Eventually I decided on a plan. I would go there first on my own, get a job and find a place to stay and then return to Ireland for my family. I would leave my responsibilities to Patrick, my younger brother. My other siblings are old enough to help as well. It seemed perfect; I was going to save my family. From that night forward I saved every last penny I earned for America. I worked instead of going to school. I kept all of my plans to myself until I could finally leave.
After months of work I was ready. I told my family I was off to America. At first they seemed hesitant, but after they realized that our family could not survive in these conditions much longer, I was able to set off to America.

Shayna-Story

What happened to me on March 22.

Once upon a time there was a girl who did not get enough sleep. Because she was so tired, she had coffee in the morning but it did not perk her up very much. She went through the entire day half asleep; listening to trials, talking to friends, even driving in her car.

This girl had to go to internship on a boring Thursday afternoon and since she was practically asleep, she decided to go get coffee at Starbucks. So she went in an ordered a coffee frappaccino light but the barista informed her that they were out of the light. She got frustrated and decided she still needed coffee so she got a cappuccino. She drank it even though she burned her tongue and it gave her energy. So at internship, she was having a good day and talking to her mentors and having fun. At four o' clock, the girl's mentor said she was ready to do the coffee talk. The girl knew it was called a coffee talk but she did not think that her mentor would actually want to go get coffee. So, they drove to a nearby Starbucks and went to order. They both wanted the same thing, a mocha frappaccino light. But, to her surprise, a different Starbucks was again out of the light base! Both the mentor and the girl looked at each other and did not know what to do but they eventually decided to get a regular one. So, the girl interviewed her mentor and they had a fun time talking about work, boys, the gym and food. After the interview was over, the girl went home.

On her drive home, the girl was feeling unusually hyper. Suddenly, it occurred to her that she had had three caffeinated drinks that day, one with chocolate on it! That was not good because she knew she would not be able to sleep. When the girl got home, she had all this useless energy so she decided to go to the gym. As she was getting ready, she was running up and down the stairs, forgetting her shorts upstairs and her shoes downstairs. She was singing and jumping and running, never walking, singing “I’m not gonna get sleep tonight…I’m not gonna get sleep tonight!” The girl suddenly stopped as she was filling a water bottle. She knew she was weird but she never thought she was that weird. Then she thought to herself, oh well, and continued singing.

She worked really hard at the gym, running really hard to try to burn off some energy, but it did not really work.

When she got back from the gym, she worked until about ten o’clock finishing her honors essay. She worked and worked, typing and talking really fast because of her three caffeinated drinks. When she was done, she watched Grey’s Anatomy and was really into it. When it was over, she was not tired AT ALL! By that time it was about eleven, late for her on a school night. She was hyper, talkative and did not want to go to sleep. She kept talking and talking about pointless stuff and her dad kept listening with full interest.

It was midnight, the girl knew she had to get up in six hours and fifteen minutes to go to school but she still could not go to sleep. However, she made herself get in bed. Once lying down, the girl just laid there, doing nothing, for a long time, because she could not fall asleep. She knew she would regret this in the morning.

Eventually she fell asleep. The alarm actually woke her up in the morning, something that normally does not happen; usually she wakes up a few minutes before it goes off. Anyways, she wakes up and wants to go back to sleep. But she can't. She has to take a shower. She was right though, she regrets going to bed late. She is so tired now so what does she do? She has more coffee.

Wes -> "short" story

This is my story, its kinda long but its a true story:

As a boy scout I have been to summer camp several times. One camp that I’ve been to is Emerald Bay on Catalina Island. Most camps usually last a week or so and you do a variety of activities each day like shooting, swimming, etc. I wanted to do sailing which was supposed to be pretty fun. Every afternoon, me and three other boys would go sailing around the bay. This was fun and we just cruised around. As we prepared to go out on the third day, we had little idea of what was in store for us. We always got everything we needed prepared before for we went out on the water. I was getting life jackets, and the other kids were getting the sails rigged. There were three boats, the S.S. Minnow, the Turtle, and the Blow me………Wind. As you could probably tell from the names of these boats, none of them were particularly awe inspiring. We had decided to take the Turtle since we thought it was the best of the three. The counselor who was in our boat was a young blond kid, probably 17 or 18. I remember asking him if we needed a radio and he said no. We finally got our boat in the water and started heading out of the bay.

About the same time we got out of the bay, the weather started to change for the worse. The sky quickly darkened and wind picked up. The scenery started to resemble that of “a Perfect Storm” We didn’t seem to notice at first, but soon the wind was howling and waves got bigger. We started racing along, the wind whipping through our hair and the smell of the sea everywhere. We were all yelling and cursing and laughing. It was really exhilarating. The boat would be in the air for seconds as we launched over waves. In order to keep the boat stable, me and my friend were leaning way off the port side of the boat. At one point the boat was almost completely horizontal. This was really cool, until we flipped.

It was then our boat took up its name, and turtled. At we this point we were all laughing and cursing in the water. We grabbed hold of the boat and decided what to do next. I gave my glasses to the counselor, and tried to help them flip the boat over. Being inexperienced with sailing, we had trouble flipping it over again, because it was our first time. We tried several times, and after a few minutes I was laughing hysterically. To this day I am still not quite sure why holding onto a turtled boat a mile off shore was funny, but anyways we managed to flip the boat back over.

Under most circumstances, this would have been ok. But being the inexperienced sailors that we were, it wasn’t. We had forgotten one very important thing, to unrig the sails. When we flipped the boat back over, the sails were taut and the boat promptly took off dragging two kids and the counselor, who were holding on to the boat at the time. I had apparently forgotten one of the most important rules, don't let go of the boat.

So, there I was; sitting in the ocean without my glasses watching my comrades get carried off by a runaway sailboat. I was floating there with the fifth kid laughing. After about ten minutes though, the reality sank in that they wouldn’t be able to get back to me easily because they would have to fight against the wind. I decided that I would start swimming towards camp (or what I thought was camp). The other kid thought he would be better off floating there. A half hour in the water I was getting nervous. I knew that nobody would notice I was gone for a couple of hours, the other boat would have a hell of a time trying to get us, and I couple possibly drown. Despite being not very religious, I started praying. I was reminded of the famous quote “there are no atheists in foxholes”.

Meanwhile, the other boat was facing rough times too. While three people would usually be enough to sail the boat, one kid was curled up on the floor (scared shitless) repeating “we’re all gonna die” over and over again. So it was up to the two to sail the boat back to rescue us. They had a hard time keeping track of us, as we were small dots bobbing up and down and were unlucky enough to get blue life jackets. What kind of idiotic company manufactures blue life jackets anyways?

After about 45 minutes in the water, swimming and praying, I saw a boat. Sure it was the Turtle I started yelling/cursing at them to come pick me up. As they approached I realized that it wasn’t the Turtle and quickly started praying that in fact that had not heard me. When they got closer they asked if I needed help and picked me up. Luckily they had not heard any of my angry rant. They brought to me to their camp, which was a mile or so below Emerald Bay. There they contacted my camp and alerted them of the situation. At that point I must have been either really calm or in shock, because all I said was “can I get a towel and where’s the bathroom?” The kid who decided not to swim got hypothermia but was eventually picked up. By that evening I was finally reunited with all my friends and from then on we always took a radio when we went sailing.

Stephanie-story

Once upon a time there was a family that had been out at sea for a whole two months. The family consisted of a mother, a step-father, two older and bratty sisters, and one younger and extremely sweet and angelic sister. Yep thats me!!
Well as you might have guessed this is about my family and what happened on the night of January 5th, as we sailed back into our hometown of Puerto Vallarta. It was about 8 in the evening, everything was cast in the dark shadow of night. The water was calm and and looked like a flat blanket of glass. As we neared the harbor, the smell of salt was quickly overpowered by the scent of seagull droppings. When we were passing by the jetty my dad asked my older sister Kourtney, who was 16 at the time, to go outside and look for the buoy. She quickly fixed her hair and said," A boy?" After correcting her mistake, she promptly went to the bow and kept her eyes peeled.
Five minutes later we hadn't heard from her and we concluded that the crashing of the waves against the rocks was drowning out her voice. So my mom and my sister, Lauren went out to look as well. Two seconds later Lauren ran back and there was a light of humor/fear in her eyes. It looked as if she could burst out in laughter or tears at any moment. In an out of breath voice she yelled," DADDY KOURTNEY IS FALLING OFF THE BOAT!!" He quickly told me to grab the wheel and to keep the compass between 260 and 270 degrees.
I was so excited to finally be able to steer, since the rule in our famil is that when you reach the age of 10 you can finally steer the boat and take shifts. I figured this was my moment to shine in front of Lauren, because she had recently turned that age and I was only 7. Well in my excitement and dreaming of my glory, I somehow manged to turn the boat completely around.
While all this was taking place at the bow of the boat there were even bigger problems. Somehow Kourtney had managed to slip and was hanging from the metal bars on the boat. She was halfway out of the water and her legs were submerged in the icy dark abiss. The main problem was convincing her to let go and grab our dad's hand. After what seemed like an hour but was really only 5 minutes she was brave enough to let go and was pulled up on to the deck. Of course she was histerically crying and in frantically trying to comfort her, everyone forgot about me.
I was of course freaking out, because I didn't know what to do, but rather than yell for help I proceded to steer the boat into what I thought was the right direction. In reality we were just going around in circles. Everyone finally made it back to the cockpit and while my mom praised me for being so grownup and not panicking, my dad took the wheel (a little too roughly I thought) and began to sail the boat back into the bay. When we finally anchored and were all safe and sound we began to recount the events of the night, and we concluded two important things. One, that Kourtney was in desperate need of a boyfriend, and two that I would never be allowed to steer again.

Gaston's New Story

My story begins with a hilarious joke that I played on this girl in my class named, Mary. Put simply Mary is an overachieving teacher’s pet. At the time of the joke I thought that she pretty much deserved it. This joke that I speak of was that the night before Mary and I had to give a presentation in front of our Engineering class I sent her an email that said I was not coming to school the next day. She of course freaked out but, none the less she stayed up all that night preparing for the presentation she thought she was going to present solo. I of course came in the next and got a good laugh out of the whole thing. She and a few others did not find my little joke as funny as I and many others did. Although this may seem like the ending of my story it is not. My story is about what happened after my misdeed, in fact you may just view these as the consequences of my actions, as I do, or just see them as bad luck.

This first of the consequences happened shortly after the actual joke was played. On a long weekend I went with one of my best friends to the annual Thunderboat Regatta at the bay. The Thunderboat Regatta is basically like NASCAR in the sense that it’s high speed racing and attracts a lot of country folk. The thing that’s different is that cars aren’t what are being raced, instead hydroplanes are raced on the water. It’s all very exciting watching the boats travel at high speeds then suddenly seeing one of them flip and burn. While at this event I broke my hand while playing a game of “two hand touch” football with my friends and some good ol’ country boys who know them. Now when I say “two hand touch” I mean that that particular rule only applied to the smaller kids. The bigger kids had to be tackled. Unfortunately for me I was a big kid. Some of the kids we were playing with were much bigger then I am. Whenever I got the ball I usually went out of bounds. The last pass of the game I caught the ball in the middle of the field, and in the middle of all the bigger kids on the other team. Suffice it to say that I ended up at the bottom of a lot of bigger guys. That’s how I broke my hand. I was in my cast for a couple of months. On this cast Mary wrote “Karma”.

The next of unfortunate thing to happen to me was that my laptop completely died on me. The fact that my laptop broke didn’t really matter to me at the time. I eventually got it fixed and didn’t lose any data. It’s the fact that my laptop broke after I was already more then halfway editing my group’s music video for our Math Core Intensive class. That weekend I had to recapture all the video on a desktop at home and redo all the editing. It took me many hours that weekend to redo all the work. I got the music video done on time for class the following Monday.

You’d think that after a computer gets fixed it would stay fixed. Unfortunately for me this was not the case. While I was finishing up the last half of an essay about the Roaring Twenties my laptop again died. This situation was a lot worse then when it last broke. This is because when it first broke I had a weekend to redo my work. When it broke the second time I was in the middle of finishing an essay that was due the next day and I still had to edit another essay that was also due the next day. I stayed up late that night rewriting my essay about the Roaring Twenties and I was fortunate enough to find an up to date version of my other essay on my email account.

The most recent things to happen to me were both technology related, of course. On Spring Break I was looking to spending some good quality time at home not doing anything. The category of not doing anything includes playing video games on my Xbox 360. Unfortunately, my 360 began encountering a hardware failure during the first week of Spring Break. So video games were out the door for me as was time on my laptop because it was still being repaired from the last time it broke. I got my laptop the second week of Spring Break and I have yet to send in my 360 for repairs. The last unfortunate thing to happen to me happened at school. The second day back from Spring Break I walked into class and I accidentally bumped my leg against the corner of a table. When I took my cell phone out of my pocket to check the time I noticed something weird indeed. The screen was stark white with a black crack going across its length. I had broken the screen of my cell phone when I bumped into that table. Fortunately for me the phone still received and could make calls. I got a new phone the same day for free because the phone was still under its warranty.

Now in the beginning when I broke my hand I treated it as nothing more then just the consequences of playing a game of tackle football with bigger rougher people. When my laptop broke the second time I still thought it was nothing more then some bad luck. Then I wrote a mean short story about the joke I played and read it in front of the class. Mary with her emotional fragility that plagues all women did not respond well to my story. After that my laptop broke again along with my 360 and my cell phone. Now I am starting to think that maybe just maybe I’m getting my just desserts. That those events were my bad Karma coming to get me. It could also just be my paranoid self thinking that there’s something bigger out there trying to get me. Those events could and probably are just a bit of bad luck and it’s a coincidence that it happened after I pulled that stupid and immature prank on Mary. Feel free to think whatever you want but just remember this: Don’t play a joke on a person with voodoo dolls, especially when that person doesn’t have a sense of humor.

Estefanie - story

One summer, my family an I traveled with another family to the Philippines. On our way to the Philippines we had a six-hour lay over in Korea. I couldn't hear very well getting off the plane because of the altitude of our flight, and I was trying desperately to "pop my ears." The daughter from the other family, who happened to be my best friend, suggested that I plug my nose and blow.

I ended up blowing so hard that I popped a vein I think and started bleeding. Panicked, I darted towards the bathroom. A Korean lady was standing right outside the doorway of a bathroom so I darted in right past her, probably almost knocking her over but suprising her for sure.

When I was in the bathroom, I turned to my right and saw a long row of urinals. I then thought to myself Why does Korea have urinals in the ladies' room? Seeing no paper towels, I turned to my left. Instead of paper towels, I found a Korean man zipping up his pants (he was probably the husband of the lady standing right outside). At this point, I was panicking like crazy. When I saw the Korean man I yell "OH CRAP! WRONG BATHROOM!" and dart outside into the bathroom next door.

To my relief I saw a bunch of Korean ladies exiting and entering stalls or washing their hands. I then grab a paper towel and plug my nose waiting for it to stop bleeding. Within a few minutes, my best friend comes stumbling in laughing like crazy. I too begin laughing. The rest of the crowd, however, were not pleased.

Trenten R. - Short Story

He lived a life of solitude. Everyday was remotely similar. At a 8:55 he would open a soda, a diet rootbeer to be exact. His new white shirt exclaimed how he was felt to the world. His hair combed and his pants ripped were his style. After school he would play a single game of bloody knuckles and drive home just missing the traffic. His car didnt say much about him, except for his passion for the road. But soon everything would change, the ride home was different, everything was different about that day, his hair, his clothes, his soda. It's as if he had seen the future. As he looked back to see the oncoming traffic, he caught a glimpse of what was in the back seat. It was Albert Pujols. It was his idol, but he was dead. Lying across the back seat holding the empty soda cans in the back. He then realized that he had killed him, knowing this he cut his own life short.

madeleine - story

There was once a man I knew who used to beg for money on the corner of 5th and Broadway. He had an old guitar that he got from an old pawn shop that no one was really sure how old it was or even where it came from. If you asked the man, he probably wouldn't know either. But as much as he played his guitar people payed no attention to him, but his existence was a meek one so he silently sang the words to himself while playing his beloved guitar.
About a few years ago another beggar man came and started to ask for money across the street from the beggar guitarist. But unlike most beggars in the area, he had a set of bongo drums that he loved to play. He liked to keep the origin of his drums a secret, telling curious passerby that he attained them in a tragic adventure while in Africa, but he really found them one night in an abandoned alleyway. He played so well, but like the guitarist beggar but not very many people paid attention to him so he played to himself and sang the words quietly to himself.
These two beggars were so good that many people who would give them money couldn't decide between them, and so for a long time neither one got any money. One crisp autumn morning the guitarist beggar woke up to find the drummer next to him, playing. Except for an initial shock of surprise, the man felt nothing, and started playing his guitar. The beggars were so good together that pretty soon people started giving them lots of money to play. Pretty soon other beggar-musicians joined them, and one day a big record company executive stopped in front of the band and liked what he heard. He immediately signed them, and now they tour the world known as CobraStarship.

Eddy - Story

A guitar has been born, added to the ranks of countless others in the world. Shaped and molded from the finest of lumber, plastic, and metal. Perfect curves on the body, a lean, straight neck, and frets that shined like stars. Never has there been a guitar quite so exquisite. Commissioned by a great musician who's name is lost in history, this guitar was destined for many incredible things, to be played by many skillful hands, to see many sights, to travel many lands. This is its story.

As the guitar felt the first few strokes of its glowing new strings, it knew it was alive. As it began to hear the sound from these same strings, it knew it had just entered an entirely new world. The guitar breathed in the fresh sounds around it as if they were its life-force.

Suddenly, it felt the old soft hands that belonged to its creator and craftor. They felt strangely familiar yet somehow very new. The old man was about to play the guitar for the first time. The guitar did not know exactly what this meant but it could tell instinctively that it was true. Out of reflex, the bright new instrument straightened its neck, tightended its strings, and stretched its shoulders. After the longest moment the guitar would ever experience, the most incredible sensational euphoria came over it. There was no explaining it. It was simply pure joy. Then, slowly, the guitar heard it; the most beautiful sound it would ever hear. It was its first song. It could feel the tips of the old man's fingers runing along the strings on its neck, tapping the notes into the air. The picking of the strings was like the quick beating of a heart. The music flowing from the old man and the guitar was inexplicably awe-inspiring. No more beautiful a song has ever been played.

It was a song of beauty. It sounded with soft, flowing tones. It was Black Bird.

Then it all came to a stop. The feeling, the sounds, the sensations. The song was over. It was all over. So quickly, the guitar thought. It was over so fast. It wanted more. Like an addict, the guitar was hooked. It was official. Music was now its life. Its destiny. Fate had unfolded before it in mere moments, without even the slightest awareness from the brilliant device of sound. There was much ahead.

The old man put the guitar down on a standing rack nearby. It watched as he walked away, slow and bent, all the way to the door on the far side of the room. The light clicked off and it was night. The guitar sat in silence. All it could think was Is it tomorrow yet?

alma's song

And if the world could look like it used to, I would give a penny for every house owner
And if could safe all the extinct animals of the world, I would take back every word I said
But knowing that this world is full of mysteries, it is up to me to be the explorer
And create a world of my own
Where the bombs don’t explode,
Where the polar bears can still leave on their own,
Where saying “I love you” is not a waste of a three letter word,

Lets take all the flowers and put them in front of the guns,
Lets put all the hearts that were broken in front of the t.v.,
So we can see reality t.v.

But reality is different then what we think,
But maybe one day I love you will be a universal language on its own,
And maybe one day we will hold hands with that individual that you use to be.
But today, I just live a nother day.

Colton's Song

Song Lyrics

Standing up here on this hill

Watching the world as it might,

Change,

Not like it hasn’t happened before,

Extraordinary comes to touch the bounds of reason.

What will they say when things are different?

But maybe we won’t be the ones to understand,

Then we will see that life just isn’t a game,

Working for the things we hid away from.

For this day I cannot wait,

A chance for everyone to be the same,

A chance for our world to move past,

Past this war and aggression.

Then we will be able to advance,

In the way of life and understanding.

Dario's Song

How hard is it to write a song?
That writer's block
Makes you wanna rock
How hard is it to write a song?

How hard is it to write a song?
Your mind stops
Can't think of anything
How hard is it to write a song?

How hard is it to write a song?
It isn't easy
To get that pen on paper
How hard is it to write a song?

Batman Begins

I’m lost in a sea of sorbet, swimming like a nun.

Lost my grandma in the candy store, she locked the door and ran away, to this day.
What do you what me to say.

Willy Wonka is a joke, my grandma left me to me up with that stupid hoax.

Hillary Duff is always there for me,
Megan’s song isn’t insulting.

Inauguration is my situation, I know a man who made the emancipation proclamation.

Tylers Song

One warm day in Mexico
My heart was filled with glee,
as i drove by a small taco stand
a mere shack alone by the sea.

I went and got un burrito
and held it in my hands,
one tear came to my eye,
it was the most bonito burrito in all the land.

Right before i take a bit
my burrito is snatched and gone,
I didn't get to say "good bye"
Not even a "so long".

Dark figures stood before,
wearing large hats in the hot hot sun,
a man with a mustache stepped foward
and said he wanted to have a little fun

"if i you want your burrito back,
you have to beat me in a game,
but if you lose amigo
ill put you and your burrito to shame"

Conrad-Song

The people have all gone home,
The lights have turned off and the night is getting old.

The kings of the times,
Silenced with every note.
People need to realize, times are not afloat.

The night grows darker...
It becomes harder and harder to see...
It’s hard to tell you from me.

Nations fight…
Secrets are withheld.
The fight for justice begins…
With the signal from hell.

Oh I see it now, it all came true.
Dear my lord, it finally came through.
Morning arrives and I see it well.
Get out, get out, this isn’t hell.

Chris' Song

I'm talking about hoes, bling, and me being the king
Is this hop hop
Every poor man's dream?
What do they have to look up to
when there is no dad
Some thug named fifty with his G-unit business plan
Propagating hate like the Ku Klux Klan

It's invisible, just like the air we breathe
But visible, like lungs that catch the disease
You might not see that you're in it
But test yourself, it's free
Living with a virus, tied to the fate of HIV

We live in San Diego
How ghetto can it be?
Say you're financially struggling
But come with the newest brands
Back in the day it was Adidas
Now it's all about the Vans

Go back to your roots
See the foundation of this legacy
You're destroying it by being the child of this corporate enemy
Open your eyes and remove the veil
Respect the thug life. But make sure you never hail
Quickly change
Before your thoughts become forever after
Quickly change
Before hip pop becomes your master

Megan - Song

Another spoof pop love song for you all...

I hear the clock ticking
A second has passed
It’s like I can’t remember anything
This moment goes so fast

When the brain just isn’t working
And my body’s losing steam
I know the feeling very well
From living life to living dreams

And now the telephone rings
And my heart skips a beat
It’s like you know just what I’m thinking
You know just what I need, oh

Now you see
This is new for me
I don’t know what I’m saying, what I’m supposed to be.
Listen as I sing to you, I want you to see.
And I wonder, I wonder what is this I feel?
Is it love? Is it real?
Is it you and me?

A shy hello and then
We begin to unfold
Telling things so personal
And never once getting cold

I feel the words stream out
Just like a serenade
A moment close and personal
I hope this memory won’t fade

Listen to my heart sing,
I can’t believe how loud
You know, I’ve never felt this before
I’m floating on a cloud, oh

This is al new for me
I don’t know what I’m saying, what I’m supposed to be.
Listen as I sing to you, I want you to see
And I wonder, I wonder what is this I feel?
Is it love? Is it real?
Is it you and…

I wonder, I wonder,
This is all new for me.
I don’t know what I’m saying, what I’m supposed to be.
Listen as I sing to you, I want you to see
This is you and me oh
Now I know…
This is you and me.

Was it Meant to Be?
I met this boy just yesterday
On just an ordinary day
He caught my eye and flashed his smile
The shock it gave me lasted awhile
He took my hand and off we went
Talking and laughing the hours spent
I got to know him; his secrets told
My time with him would never get old
(chorus)
Was it meant to be?
Were you meant for me?
If I gave you it all?
would you let me fall?
My heart, my soul, my trust my goals
They're there for you
Cause I only trust you
This may sounnd corny to you
But baby I promise what I say is true
The walls are coming down
My guard is dissapearing
So please don't let me down

Wes -> song

This is my song, High Tech Hell. there are one or two curse words. The third stanza refers to internship. This wasn't meant to be a serious song, just kind of a joke. so, yah, enjoy.

******************************************

I’m taking honors classes,
With a snobby bunch of asses.
Working till eleven, I never get to sleep
A minute past seven.

My teachers are insane,
They’re fillin’ up my brain,
With so much stupid junk,
That think I’m gonna flunk.

I work in the morning,
I work through the day.
They gave me a job,
And I still don't get paid.

My school is such a bummer.
And I want it to be summer,
The kids will all get lazy,
And the work load won’t be crazy.

Sleepin’ through the days,
Soakin’ up the rays,
No more effing work,
To make sure we get A’s.

The sun ’ll shine,
The wind ’ll blow.
We’ll forget the stuff,
We had to know...

Shayna-Song

This song is about my mom. She is my best friend and I don’t know what I would do without her so I wanted to write about her. This song is suppose to be kind of slow but still upbeat.

Best Friend

All my life I've admired you
You've been my hero
You've been my wings

Whenever I'm down
I turn to you
You lift my spirits
Everyday

(Chorus)
When you're not around
You're in my head
You're everywhere with me
You're my voice and my heart
You mean the most to me
My mother, my best friend

When I leave someday
I won't be far
Just a call or a short little drive
I want to be like you
Strong like you
Someday

Chorus

Every step of my life
There you'll be
Right by my side for everything
I want to be like you
Strong like you
But I already am

Chorus

My mother, my best friend

Madison's Song

Soldier put your mind at ease

Everything is gonna be alright

Soldier put your gun away for now

There’s no need for another fight

The enemy is gone

And we are left to carry on

Soldier don’t you know

That we are miss you so

Please hold on

When everything seems so wrong

Cause you’re comin’ home

Cause you’re comin’ home

You’re comin’ on home

Brian/Song

This song is not from personal experience it's just for fun!

Sugar Lips

I’ve been watching you across the room
Hypnotized by all the eyes on you
Here’s a little something to keep in mind
Tell your little secrets and I’ll tell you mine.

[pre-chorus]
Laughing through the day thinking you were never boring
Speeding through the night and my heart is soaring
I’m floating in the air light as a feather
I’m dizzy from the time we spent together

[chorus]
I’m thinking ‘bout your sugar lips
Got a feeling for you now that's so strong
I'm dreaming of the candy in your finger tips
Girl don't stay away from me for too long

I’m thinking ‘bout the sweetness in your shakin’ hips
Infatuated with you for so long
I’m dreaming of the caramel in finger tips
Our loves is so strong

I close my eyes and I see you clear
It feels like you're lying here
All the things I want to say come and go
Easy as the breeze, those words just flow

[pre-chorus]
Laughing through the day thinking you were never boring
Speeding through the night and my heart is soaring
I’m floating in the air light as a feather
I’m dizzy from the time we spent together

[chorus]
I’m thinking ‘bout your sugar lips
Got a feeling for you now that's so strong
I'm dreaming of the candy in your finger tips
Baby don't stay away from me for too long

I’m thinking ‘bout the sweetness in your shakin’ hips
Infatuated with you for so long
I’m dreaming of the caramel in finger tips
Our love is so strong
[repeat 2x]

Eddy - Song

You have no idea what we're looking for
You have no idea what we want
You'll never know the things we do
You'll never know

An endless mile in ragged shoes
We dare you tread our path
A few feet later you're breaking down
You'll never know our wrath

Irritants galore in this life you've left behind
We know what you're missing
We don't know why you fight

Your wars we wage
In your deserts we thirst
Blood abound in endless seas
We serve your food
We wash your dishes
And you'll never know our kind of peace

Our pain
Our love
Our life
Our struggle

Jason - Song

uh.. i tried to make a ballad. k.
ballad of gaston.

Its impossible, to climb this this castle wall
Every time I try, I fall straight down
I know better, but I keep trying
And the rain comes in one more time.

Enough for me, I can stop now
Hold it back, wait for day
keep it in, break it down
And the rain drops down one more time.

I never expected, to give it up
I never saw it coming down
the pawn takes down the wall
And the rain pours down one more time.

Now I'm back, with nothing to say
The wall once knew, i don't care about
once again, it is balanced
And the rain comes in one more time.

Dan -- Song

The Song About Nothing

I sit here today,
waiting for the words.
but they won't come!

So Here...We...Go!

This is the song about nothing
the greatest song ever.
It has no point,
no purpose.

But that doesn't stop me!

I could write about love.
I could write about death.
But I'd rather write about...

Nothing!

My life is busy,
I'm constantly tired,
but I don't care!
Because I'm singing about...

Nothing!

-Scat session-

This is the song about nothing
the greatest song ever.
It has no point,
no purpose.

But that doesn't stop me!

(talking) uhhh...Dan, urgent message from Fehrenbacher.
"whispers"

(song) So I guess this song has to be about something,
so I'll write about nothing...

This is the song formerly about nothing.
Its about something new!
This is the song that failed at being about nothing.
Oh well, I guess that makes me like Blink 182!

Please let me explain: the events in this song, however truthful, have not happened to me. this is merely a hypothetical situation. The song is called Puppies and Kitties (title to be changed later)

On Monday nights
the best place to be is the library! (ohh liberry!)
such adventures await
so much as you can take
before going to sleep.

but when I saw you I knew
that you weren't kidding when you said
"Why doesn't anything make sense?"
and after you turned it right back up
I should have stepped right out
and left you alone for good.
But your gorgeous eyes and
that awesome faux hawk
meant trouble for me and you.

-chorus-
It's not that hard to read
when it's a magazine
but who really cares about them
when your favorite one
says that bigfoot had a son
and now they live in Kentucky.
I wouldn't be so shallow
if you just thought deeper!
then maybe we can both be free.
-chorus-

I wish I could have told him
the effect he had on me
but I guess his condition was worse than mine
It made him sleep a lot
rock out and sing some songs
with words that had no real rhyme.

-chorus-
It's not that hard to read
all your random magazines
when the headlines blare loud
"Bird man had a daughter
that had wings and named faris rotter"
when we all know he had a son.

Jameela's Song

I Love You

Baby....

I just thought you should know..
ahhh.

So here I am again
in this love game
Suddenly amused by yo style boo
I think I love you

I love you
and I dont know what to do
Im stuck on you
and now you know I love you

You got me feeling like
misery is impossible
or like love aint the limit

I love you
and I dont know what to do
Im stuck on you
and now you know I love you

La,La,La,La
Looooovvvveee
La,La,La,La
Looooovvvveee

I love you
and I dont know what to do
Im stuck on you
and now you know I love you

Gaston's Song

My song requires some explaination. So last Friday, when the class went to the boat channel I was attacked by a Bat Ray. This of course happened after the whole class had already gone back to class. Jason and Dan saw the terrible ordeal and can explain it. This song is about the attack and the Bat Ray.

I was walking along the Bay

Watching the birds laugh and play

Then to my dismay

I was attacked by a Bat Ray

It looked at me with burning eyes

Dragged me deeper into muck

It must have thought my end was nigh

This beast was huge as a buck

It sucked off my shoe

I liked that shoe so I went kung fu

I kicked and I punched the damn ray

Right then it wanted to fly away

It opened its jaws

And I pulled my shoe from its maw

I was not done

With this animal of the ocean

I stomped and I ripped

The thing made a shriek

As it came close to the crypt

The thing then fell weak

It dragged me so far out

That I had to be helped

How to Change a Headlight

How to Change a Headlight

by Colton Lewis

---BEFORE YOU START ANYTHING, MAKE SURE YOUR CAR IS OFF AND THE KEY IS OUT OF THE IGNITION TO AVOID SERIOUS INJURY---

Tools Required – Socket Wrench, Screw Driver, Cloth/working gloves. New Light Bulbs

Average Time – 30 minutes – 1 ½ hours.

Step 1 Open your drivers side door and pull the lever to pop the hood of your car.

Step 2 - Open your hood and prop it up using your stick under the hood of the car and then locate the light you wish to replace.

Step 3 – When you have found the light, locate the four bolts holding it in place, usually they would be on two on the top that are visible and two that might be underneath the grill* of the front. Usually all four are visible without taking the grill off.

Step 4 – Get your socket wrench and attach the correct size socket to it and begin to unscrew the bolts holding your headlights in, yes all four bolts are the same size. Unscrew them to the left and repeat for each bolt until the headlight is completely loose and all four bolts are out.

Step 5 – Once this is done put your socket wrench down next to your four bolts and begin to LIGHTLY jiggle your headlight out of place. Usually this involves pulling it up and jiggling it in order to make it come out of the mold its sitting in. When you do this you should be able to see the wiring in the back of the headlight. Be aware, still support your headlight and DO NOT LET IT HANG BY THE WIRES, THIS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE.

Step 6 - Now, in the back of the headlight is either one, two or three butt ends of the light bulbs in which the wiring is attached to. To release the wires, push down on the clips that are on each side and begin to jiggle and pull the plugs out in order to detach them from the headlight. Do this for every single light bulb in the back that a wire is attached to.

Step 7 - Now your headlight should be completely loose and you should be able to pick it up and carry it around, it is completely detached at this point. Now for the lights, in order to remove the lights, spin them counter clockwise (or clockwise for certain car models) by the butt of the light bulb and this should release the bulb. Dispose of them because they are useless, or keep them if you have another purpose.

Step 8 – Now, to add the new light bulb, DO NOT TOUCH THE LIGHTBULB WITH YOUR FINGERS, USE A CLOTH OR GLOVES TO PUT THE LIGHT BULB IN, TOUCHING IT WILL KILL THE LIFE OF THE LIGHT. Put the light bulb into the hole and spin it clockwise to tighten it and fasten it into the socket.

Step 9 – Now put the headlight back near the wiring and make sure it is on the right way, attach the wiring into the back of the light bulb by pushing on the clips on the side and then pushing the wiring into the light bulb fixture. Do this for one, two, or three of the bulbs.

Step 10 – Now place the headlight back into the casing and jiggle it around a little bit in order for it to slide into place.

Step 11 – RECOMMENDATION FOR THIS – SCREW EACH BOLT IN HALF WAY THEN EQUALLY SCREW THEM IN LITTLE BY LITTLE TO AVOID CRACKING HEADLIGHT.

Now get your socket wrench and bolts and begin to screw the bolts back into the headlight screw holes and so they are fastened to the front of the car. Do this for all four of the bolts and until they are completely tightened down.

Step 12 – Your headlight should be in place and should now work. Close the engine bay and check to see if it is sitting right. Turn your car on and check your lights, they should work perfectly.

Eddy - Poems

Someone somewhere will step forward
They will unfold our blinded eyes

And tell us

That science, the classrooms, the ruling assumption

Have made us shrink away from the central truths

Our questions about the developing universe

To live a subtle life is not so easy anymore

Nor will it ever be again

Until the churches, the mosques, and the temples

Have all fallen to ruin

Huddled for warmth with nature itself as a blanket
The human race began simply
It pondered mysteries of the universe
And celebrated its answers
Every year, every month, every day
For three hundred thousand years
They passed on these central truths through spoken stories
Have pity upon the primitive
For we will never again know their ignorance
Their bliss

Sedate our sadness for bygone days
Give us the drug of daily satisfaction
Tear from us our natural being
Break the primordial tradition
Extract the cosmos
And put it in a pill
To be taken twice in the morning and twice at night
So that the water, the sky, the rain
Will flow in our minds
Forever in our memories
And never again in our hearts
Alter our genetic makeup
And remove that which we once embodied
We have no further use for it

Eddy - How to Install SUSE Linux

Required Elements:
Acronis Partitioning Software
SUSE 10.2 disk
Internet Connection
Computer with at least a 20gb hard drive and an internet connection

SUSE 10.2 can be downloaded here
Once downloaded, burn it to a DVD using any burning software. Nero Burning Software is suggested.

  1. Plug in and set up hardware for computer (keyboard, mouse, etc)
  2. Turn on computer
  3. During the first screen of the bios, press the delete (DEL) key
  4. You will now be in the BIOS control. Cursor down to Advance Periferals and press enter/return. Set the boot priority floppy, CD-Rom, and hard disk, in that order. Press escape and save and exit.
  5. As the system restarts, put the Acronis disk into the disk drive
  6. The computer will boot to the disk and show you the Acronis partitioning controller. Find your hard drive in the window, right click it and format it to the ext3 format. Your hard drive will now be ready to have linux installed on it.
  7. Save your changes and tell Acronis to restart the computor.
  8. Replace the Acronis disk with the SUSE 10.2 disk
  9. The system will boot the the SUSE Linux start screen. Press F3 and select the optimum resolution for your monitor (check the manual or box if you do not know it off-hand).
  10. Cursor to the Install option and press enter/return
  11. This is where the actual installation begins. From here, the installation is very self-explanitory. The installer will ask you for various information relating to your geographic location, hardware, and preferences. Pay close attention to each one. If you do not know the answer for one, leave it on the default. When you are prompted for a partitioning setup for the operating system, tell it to do the suggested partitioning setup. If you are an advanced user and would like to have a more specific or customized partitioning, you may modify it.
  12. Once the installation setup is done, the installation of the operating system will begin. This can take up to 2 hours.
  13. When the installation is complete, the installer will prompt you to restart the system. Allow it to do so.
  14. When the system is booting back up, remove the disk. The system should boot to SUSE Linux.

How To Stand Up On a Surfboard
Materials: A longboard, a ocean, waves, and patience
Steps:
1. Paddle out into the waves and charge!
2. Sit and wait for a wave more on the inside, or near the beach, don’t paddle out too far
3. Whether or not the wave has broken yet, turn around and paddle hard
4. Paddling is when you lat flat on your stomach on the surfboard with your arms at your sides in the water. To paddle, reach forward as far as you can and pull the water back, like a breast stroke.
5. Make sure you are on the board in the right spot and you’re too far back or too far forward
6. Paddle and catch that wave!
7. Once you feel yourself catching the wave and accelerating forward, grab the rails of the board near your chest (the side of the board)
8. Push your upper body up like a push up, while simultaneously jumping or sliding your feet forward underneath you.
9. Once you’re either on your knees or on your feet, stand up and enjoy the ride.

Dario - Borscht

Introduction:
Borscht, as you can see, is a soup made mostly from beets, but also includes beef-flavored bouillon and garlic. It was eaten mostly in Russia and other parts of Eastern Europe mainly by poor people, hence the simplicity. Borscht had been around for a long time in the Slavic region, but played a big part in the Russian Revolution. During the revolution when such a large majority of the citizens were poor, borscht was a main staple of their daily diet because beets were so cheap. Though borscht was cheap and easy to make, it had negatives to it as well. Not enough iron, protein, or vitamins were included in this soup, which could have lead to many deficiencies or illnesses in the person. These lacking diets could lead to diseases such as malnutrition or anemia. Anemia usually comes from iron deficiency and is a disease where not enough iron gets into one’s blood, meaning that blood cannot get sufficient oxygen, not allowing it to function properly. Usually red meat can be consumed to solve this, if available. If not, different flours and breads are strong alternatives as well.

Ingredients:
6 cups of beef boullion
6 beets
3 cloves garlic
juice of 1 lemon
sour cream (whatever amount you like)

Process:
1. Get a large bowl.
2. Peel and chop beets. Put them in the bowl.
3. Smash garlic and put it in the bowl.
4. Mix boullion with lemon juice. Put this mix in the bowl of beets and garlic.
5. Boil in a pot until beets are soft. This will usually take about 40 minutes.
6. Serve hot or cold, with a garnish of sour cream.

10 SIMPLE STEPS ON HOW TO BE A: JETSETTER, SOCIALITE, “IT” GUY/GIRL & PARTYGOER

Introduction:
You may be asking yourself “what in the world is a jetsetter or socialite?”
First of all, a jetsetter is a person who spends their life going from city to city worldwide to satisfy their every need and live a very luxurious life.

Examples of Jetsetters and Socialites:
1. Fabian Basabe
2. Paris Hilton
3. Brittny Gastineau
4. Carrie Bradshaw from “Sex & The City”
5. Tara Reid
6. Alex Quinn

Steps:

1. Have the best clothes. (Be a trendsetter).
2. You’ve got to love attention. (How else would you entertain others?)
3. Always be happy and energetic.
4. Only eat either fast food or fabulous food. (Greasy chips or perfect crab cakes, cheesy junk or expensive cheese, cotton candy or caviar.)
5. Never wake up before ten and never go to bed before three. (Normal hours are for normal people. Being normal is boring. I'm yawning.)
6. Dance like no one is watching.
7. Be confidante with everything you do or say.
8. Socialize every time you can.
9. Be mean to people. (The truth always hurts)
10. Walk into a room like you own it.

Conrad - "How to throw a curveball"

1. Start by facing with both home plate homeplate.

2. Now, grip the ball with index and middle finger along the seams anywhere on the ball. Make sure that both fingers are above it so you cant get a good downard motion.

3. Now start your windup by taking your left foot back and then bringing it up to your chest.

4. Now kick your leg out towards home plate.

5. Right before you hit the ground with your front foot, your arm should be at 2 o' clock relative to the rest of your body.

6. At the same time, whip the ball in the downward motion in order to develop a low pressure system under the ball. This will causes the ball drop depending how you let go.

7. Follow through with your back leg along with your front squaring off toward home ready for a comebacker.

Note: Try experimenting with different grips and arm actions to develop the best curveball for you.

Estefanie - How to be organized

“My room is cluttered and I can’t work! I can never find what I need!”

Step one: Choose something that needs to be organized. This “something” can be a room, a backpack, an office drawer… anything.

Step two: Gather all items which need to be organized into a pile and separate them into categories. For example: Desk items – paper clips, stapler, pencils pens…
Knick-knacks – picture frames, figurines, paper weights etc… Papers/Documents

Step three: Sort each category one at a time and decide which items are still needed and must be handy at all times, which items are still needed but don’t need to be kept handy, and trash.

Limit the number of desk items and knick-knacks which are out in the open. Store the rest or throw them away.

Step four: Take all papers/documents and organize into categories. Keep separate categories by using folders or dividers. Label folders/dividers and store in a drawer/file cabinet/box.

“I ALWAYS FORGET WHAT I NEED TO DO”

Step one: Buy a planner. If you’re the type of person that has a lot of appointments, get a daily planner that is separated into times. If you’re the type of person that has general appointments and general to-do’s get a weekly/monthly planner.

Step two: In the monthly overview, PENCIL in all important dates that you need to remember, or meetings and appointments you are unsure you are able to attend. When events become a “for sure thing” erase it and write the event in pen. Copy the events into weekly overviews.

Step three: Write assignments/things to remember in their respective day slot when you are informed of them.

Step four: Check of your to-do’s which are written in the day slots as you complete them. This will help you remember what you have and haven’t done.

Chris Nho - How to 6-Step Clockwise

General information:
No one gets a move the first try. Having a fluid 6-step is going to take practice, eventually the movements will feel familiar. The 6-step is broken down into six different moves.

Start off position:
Start off in a push up position, except spread your legs apart by about a yard (you will later find that the more distanced they are, the more dynamic the move looks).

Step 1):
You will need to place the right side of your right foot about two feet to the left of your left hand. This will cause your left leg to bend, which is perfectly fine. Release your left hand and your body should now be in a slightly sideways position.

Step 2):
Now stick the lower part your left shin (somewhere close to your foot and shin) into the crevice of your right leg (which I will refer to as the legpit). Your left arm should still be up, but slightly less tilted than the last step.

Step 3):
“Unwind” your right leg and bring it so it is parallel to your other leg, which should still be bent. Your left hand should already be down and you will find yourself in a crab position.

Step 4):
Move your left leg clockwise so that your legpit is now making contact with your right shin, but make sure it is low enough so that your foot is still touching the ground. By the end of this step, you should be in the exact same position as the end of step 2, except it is occurring on the other side.

Step 5):
Just how your once moved your shin into your legpit, move your right foot back as much as you can but make sure both legs create a 60 degree angle. While your foot is moving, your right arm should come up and be in the air.

Step 6):
The last move of the 6-step is to move your left foot back, so that you are once again in the start position (pushup). As your leg is making this movement, put your right hand down to keep balance.

And there you have it! You now know how to 6-step. Practice hard and start slow, making sure you know each move. Good luck!

***Notes***

Once you have the basic steps, keep these few things in mind:

  • Try to never have your whole foot on the ground, instead try to make sure only parts of your foot are making contact. This will give it a quicker look.
  • There are several variations that can occur in the 6-step, be creative and explore new moves. If you are really interested, look up how to do CC’s, swipes, and other #-steps.
